how are wizards NOT humble?

common misconceptions would have you believe that we wander around throwing fireballs and turning people into chickens...
these myths were started and continued by the vast majority of people that dont have the abilities we do, and thus, are jealous of what they cant have..

if the balrog had crossed the bridge he very well may have killed frodo and the gang.. ending their quest to destroy the ring and save middle earth...

use your head.. the balrog had to be stopped, so naturally the only one with the ability to do so had to step forward..
a creature whos body is comprised of fire cant be hurt by any physical weapons.. magic is the only way, so the wizard was the only one.
