i got bored.
whats the fun in playing a game if you can alter every detail about it?
but FFXI is honestly the best MMORPG i've ever played.. keeps me busy for hours on end..
i think its able to keep my time because, unlike every other RPG out there, there is no grueling grind for levels... thats been replace by decent length fights with groups of people.. so instead of killing 500 monsters per level.. you kill like 15.. but each fight takes a few mins.. plus its done in the company of other people which adds more fun.
and it has a bit of a strategy element thrown into it.. at higher levels, if your party isnt organized, and everyone knows what theyre doing.. your chances of surviving a fight are slim to none.. keeps things interesting
and with all the expansions.. the story line is super lengthy and ultimately never ending (the keep making expansions), but each one does come to a sort of conclusion so your not left completely unsettled...
and my favorite aspect of them game... you dont have to make more than one character to be able to do everything in the game... you just go back to your mog house and switch up your jobs and gear if you get tired of hacking away at enemies, and wanna give blasting them with magic a try..
it honestly is the most entertaining, dynamic, deep, MMORPG i've ever played.. and probably will continue to play for a long time
and thats my sales pitch.. take it or leave it.. but if you do take it... you better start playing on the Diabolos server :)
