Never played FF...recommendation for first? Can't Post

Somehow, some way, I missed out on every Final Fantasy game. I loved Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Lufia, etc when I was a kid, but never played Final Fantasy.

However, I am aware this is a huge gaping hole in my game history cirriculum.

Which ones should I start with?

FF10 works. Or FF7. That seems like most people's starter FF. I personally would start out with FF6 (FF3 on the SNES), but that's just because I know all of them now.

Well, for some reason, I doubt you (Not personally) will enjoy the older FF's gameplay without some experience in the series. Play FFX before playing the older games.

basically skip 12, play X, X-2, then 9, 8, 7 in that order, (they lower the number the harder they r it seems)

Ahaha, not at all. FF7 was by far the easiest. At least, a lot easier than 9 was. Or 8.

Depends. If you can allow 90s graphics for the sake of amazing stories and fun gameplay, start at the beginning. If you need to ween yourself off of GTA4 however, start at the end and work your way back.
But don't touch X-2. That was akin to masturbating with sandpaper. *shudder*

the story scuked

grammatical error aside, this is all I care about in RPG games
FPS games can [Expletive Deleted] all over themselves as far as story goes, but with RPGs the story better be good

This may make me sound like a hardcore FFX fanboy, but I personally liked the way it linked with its prequel and the hidden missions which reveal each of the characters' pasts. The thing which I didn't enjoy was there was too much freedom. I'm not a fan of linear games, but completing game story between 45%-60% is ridiculous.

Dress Spheres
None more needs to be said to confer [Expletive Deleted]tiness.

Just for that: FFX-2 > FF7!!
Yeah, bitch! I did it!!
EDIT: Just for those who didn't notice my joke tone, that isn't my real opinion. My real opinion is FFX > FF7.

Dress Spheres were a terrible faggoted up version of the Job System.

I understand a little bit how you can manage to defend FFX. It wasn't a bad game. I liked it. But seriously man. FFX-2 reeked of such things I have never before COMPREHENDED in my life. I didn't know such ableness to SUCK could actually FIT into ONE LITTLE CD. This was, of course, before I gazed upon the flabbergasting disc of ABSURDITY that was Final Fantasy X-2.

Well, Dress Sphere system was a downfall (Slightly) and so was the fact the game didn't have a mixture of genders as playable characters. Girly-ness aside, the game had a good base, and all in all, ended the 2 game series well enough. And no, I don't think it was a better game than FF7, but I disagree with FFX-2 being a game not worth buying. And that isn't only because I enjoyed FFX substantially. And I strongly stand by my point of FFX > FF7. The only game for me personally that gave me equal entertainment to FFX in the series was FFXII. Apart from that, everything else remains above-average rank.

Re-reading my post I have formulated another random question.
Why hasn't the job system ever made a comeback? We have the terrible girly dress sphere system, something that I had to go both play a FPS while simultaneously lifting weights to stop my genitals from retreating into my crotch after playing, what would have been wrong with taking that, making it less womanly, and having a job system?
