^ Watch it if you haven't. I posted this in the Halo 3 thread too. I posted it in this thread because nobody seems to look at that one. Anyway I will now use my master over-analyZer skillZ to decipher the hidden meanings.
Ok, It starts with the two kids talking. This could mean a lot... Or it could be a load o' bull, who knows? A possibility I thought of is mabye one of the kids is Cheif back when he was 6 living at Harvest Colony. [EDIT] Cortana;
I have read this theory alot and even though it seems to be flawed because the little girl isnt a purple AI. But I think it is a metaphore in a way.
The relationship between Cortana and the MC seems to be almost brother and sister like. The conversation about alien life may have taken place, but the irony of "hoping" there to be alien life is displayed as a child like nievity. That is why they are portayed as children. Innocent and Nieve.
But why a helmet?
Cortana is always seen to be placed into the chief via a port in his helmet.
She is in his head.
This may be alittle farfetched but I think its bungie's style.

Next it goes to the battle. A womans voice (I'm guessing Cortana) says "cheif" in a distressed voice. Meaning she's in trouble somehow. I guess.
[EDIT/MAJORSPECULATION]: I turned the sound up really loud and listened to it. A whisper says "Time to go" Then the voice that I thought was Cortana really says: Cheif, Leave M" without finishing "me" This leads me to believe that its Kelly or Linda or one of them. [/EDIT
Next the radio chatter. Saying "I think we lost him" And cheif says: Not yet. In that cool badass voice. I think the "yet" might have some major signifigance. Mabye he dies to save earth.
And what about that sheild grenade thing? WTF.
Then we get the glimse of Wraiths and what I think are Brutes. [EDIT] Another comment: Those beings that the Chief attacks at the end are NOT Brutes (unless they had a total overhaul). If you have a hi def version of the vid and pause it, you can see that they are owllike. They have beaks and are really skinny but they are not Jackels. A new rase perhaps? [/edit]
Also I was looking at the comments and saw this:
The girl in his childhood is Cortana. Dunno if she's transformed into program, or if Cortana is a representation of the child. But it's the same.
In the E3 video. Cortana says *clearly* "I know you're past. And I know your future."
Unlikely, but an interesting theory.
