I know; I got it last Wednesday or Thursday I think. Finished that same night.
It has a million typos (especially the word reactors - for some reason Nylund continuously spells it 'rectors') but the storyline is sound and it ties quite a bit together.
Thankfully Bungie/Microsoft decided to forgo making a Halo 2 novel. You'll see references to Halo 2 events and locations but you will not repeat NOT get a FPS-story of the Arbiter or the Master Chief. In fact the MC isn't even IN this novel except for two scenes, both flashes back to the past.  Which is a good thing as it gives more time to the other SPARTAN-IIs.
Spoiler: Kurt is a badass. Spartans never die.
