PVP Can't Post

Hey everyone, I've been wanting to create a new pure so I can PVP a bit. I was wondering if you could tell me what you think the best build for a pure is, for F2P and P2P, along with an explanation of why that build would be any good. I'm just looking for a template so I can create a good pure without screwing the account up. Feel FREE to include Melee, Mage, or Range builds. I think i'm going to stick to F2P pvp but for future reference the P2P pvp builds would be nice too. Thanks.

Re: [Rhombus] PVP [In reply to] Can't Post

Nowadays, pures are dead for PvP purposes, but if you want, try the following:

Here's a ranged build
Ranged: 15 - 25 - 35 - 45 ... 95
Defense: 10 - 20 - 30 - 40 ... 90

Armor
Green Dragonhide set
Green Dragon Coif
Fighter/Rainbow Boots
Cape
Power Amulet
Gloves you get from the Safety Stronghold
Whatever you can get for the strongest shortbow
Addy Arrows

With this setup, you have enough defense to keep a lot of melee at bay while magic will end up being pretty much ineffective. As far as ranged is concerned, your defense and ranged skill, along with equipment should keep you even with ranged people your level. Melee is still a problem, but shouldn't be too much so as long as they're roughly your level. Having a decent defense will ensure that you won't be hit too much.

That's about all I can think of for pure builds that work. Melee is just that. Melee. Max out your Str, Atk, and Def and whap away. Not much to say about that, but here's something that might help...

Attack: 70, 80, 90
Strength: 75, 85, 95
Defense: 60 across the board, or was that 70 for dragon armor?

Equipment
Corrupted Dragon Scimitar
Corrupted Dragon Armor Set, sans Shield
Amulet of Power
Rune Berserker Shield
Gloves from the Safety Stronghold
Rainbow/Fighter Boots
Cape
2 Strength Potions (4)

With this, you're king of melee, if but for a few hours. Your only problem will be Magic, which will kick your ass without giving you the feeling to come back for more. Ranged is a nuisance as you gotta run after the bastards as you chase them, so ensure that you're in a single-fighting area to prevent from getting sniped by rangers and mages. If you happen to get in the faces of rangers, then whap away until their skulls are nothing more than a stain on your weapon. If your attack is high enough and you want DAMAGE!, then I suggest replacing the scimitar with a corrupted dragon battle axe.

That's about all I know for pures. If you want hybrids, lemme know, kay?

Re: [nadkicker69] PVP [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for the long response, I really appreciate it. I used to have a pure when there was the old wild, did quite well, and enjoyed it. I honestly haven't pked in the new PVP so I have no idea what I'm looking for. I guess I'm just looking for a build that would be good in the new PVP. I wouldn't mind hearing about hybrids. Thanks again for the response. Just in case this helps any bit, I already have an account, maybe it can be tweaked a bit to be good at PVP. The combat stats are 81 Combat, 65 attack, 65 defense, 67 Strength (Currently raising to 70), 51 prayer, 19 magic (Random, I know), and 1 range. It's just that I have a few accounts with some usernames that I fancy, and I wanted to sort of make a beast out of them. But if I can make something out of the account I just listed down, then it'll be less work and grately appreciated. Thanks

With the account you have;

Raise defence to 65, raise the attack to 85, then try max out your strength
Use Bandos armour with either whip/defender or some god sword.
Try get single fights, no piles, you could also whip/defender to low health and then pull out a godsword for a special finish KO
Whats the Name of this account?

Re: [Rhombus] PVP [In reply to] Can't Post

I would start with getting your melee combat stats to the following:

80 Attack, 85 Strength, 70 Defense and equipping yourself with corrupted dragon. A revision to the melee would be Rune gauntlets, as I found that you can wear them as a f2p. Since you're hybriding, get your prayer up there to 60 or 70 for the sole use of melee stat increase (Don't bother with prot prayers, as they only half the damage you take, I think, but if you have the prayer to spare then go for it)

Prayer combos would be as such

+Str, +Hit (Standard hit and damage)
+Hit, +Def (If you're tanking)
+Def, +Protection (If you're running away to a safe spot)
+Def, +Magic/Ranged, +Protection (Desperation)

Re: [haestan] PVP [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for both of your responses. The account I listed in my previous post is called Sphere Monk, feel FREE to add him, he's pretty much my main. The other accounts I sort of wanted to make pures out of are called Radical Poet, Stoical Lion, and Savage Winds. Not really sure what I'm going to do for now, I assume I'm just going to get my strength up on Sphere Monk for a while since I have a ton of fish just sitting in my bank. Once again, thanks for the response, and if you add me let me know you're from FGF.

EDIT:

I'm thinking of grabbing one of my new accounts and simply raising my attack to 40 and my strength to 70 to see how it works out. What do you guys think of this? Also, is there any order I should raise it in, like strength first, or attack first?

Without defense, you're as good as dead.

That logic would be great if not for 43 prayer
