There were far too many stickies for rules, mainly because the category had been condensed. This thread contains all redundant rules threads, condensed into one.

RuneScape Forum Rules

Remember, you must also follow the forum's main rules! They can be seen here.
NO Moderator will make exceptions. Whether you're a New User, Enthusiast, or Veteran - you will be warned and punished equally.

1. No Scamming. This includes posting links to infected downloads, websites asking for usernames and passwords etc.

2. No Spamming. This means you do not flood the forum with crap, you do not repeat the same message over and over and you do not post inappropriate material. This includes replying to every post a spammer makes. Don't reply in every post complaining, just PM a moderator.

3. No Flaming. We don't want people grilling each other in insults and we dont want anyone to start a war. Come on, we can all be nice here.

4. Understand that there are no Hacks for Runescape Classic or Runescape2. FGF doesn't support cheats.

5. No Advertising of any kind. This includes posting links to other Forums, Websites etc. Only posts links if you think they are really relevant.

6. Respect the Moderators, Veterans and the Admin. Common sense. If you decide to insult or flame a Mod, it will mean an immediate ban.

7. When someone breaks one of these rules (ex. scams, spams) we only need ONE person to reply and tell us it is a scam (please explain why). The post will shortly be deleted, along with all your replies.

8. Don't post about someone scamming/hacking you or attempting to, even if it was someone from this forum. Scan all files which you download/receive. You are responsible for your account, gp and items, you have the decision whether you trust someone or not. If you want top security use the DTAP. The reason for this is (mainly if it is two respected members) regardless of any evidence you may have there will always be people who agree with the other side of the argument therefore no solution is ever found.

9. FGF doesn't support selling/buying accounts. Do NOT create posts about it.

10. NO Racist posts, if a Moderator sees one, he has the right to ban you for as long as he wants. From 1 day, to permanent.

11. No complaining about other forums such as Sythe.org, it starts wars between forums, and we DON'T want that!

12. We no longer allow posts about these runescape avatars:
If you do with to ask about these avatars please do it here.

They are considered spam now, and will be given the same punishment as spamming.

13. NO posts asking for loans or free accounts. Your post will be deleted and you will be given 1 warning.

14. No topics about high-ranked or "famous" players. The players often get flamed and this will not be tolerated. Any topic like this will be deleted and the poster will risk being banned.

15. For those that still don't know we allow threads about:

private servers

clients

Tools like Calculators, RsDemon

16. No posts asking why you were banned from one of the forums or IRC chat. If you want to appeal a ban on this forum pm one of the moderators of the category you were banned from and they will help you. Please understand IRC is not part of Free-Games.com.au however some of our members use it so if you are banned don't post about it, contact the person responsible for your ban. Discussions about IRC are still allowed.

17. Discussions about quitting runescape or runescape bans/warnings are no longer allowed unless it is beneficial to you, i.e. Help writing ban appeals.

18. DON'T BUMP OLD THREADS.

19. This used to be a given, but I figure I should put it in here. While we won't do something about scamming off of FGF (i.e. on Sythe), if you scam an FGFer, you will wind up banned if there is conclusive proof.

- Don't try to keylog the files in any way. Files will be scanned by mods. If any user keylogs a file then he/she will be PERMANENTLY BANNED from all the Runescape forums.

20. Do not reply to scamvertisement threads. It will no longer be tolerated and you will be banned. No exceptions.

Because we (Mods) don't usually have much time, we delete every thread that breaks one of the above rules. The creator of such threads usually gets banned.

It might look like we are not here but we are...

If you see a broken rule or you want to ban appeal send a pm to one of the moderators.

If you see a post with a keylogger in it, search for a moderator who is online, if none is available you may post ONCE to alarm people it is keylogged. ONCE IS ALL. ANYONE ELSE REPLYING TO THAT WILL RESULT IN THE FOLLOWING:
Anyone seen replying to a scam thread will be banned for one day the first time, three days the second, a week, then a year. I'm skipping month long bans this time. I don't care what your title is, you'll be banned.

Now for the rules
* ANY kind of spam will result in the spammer being banned for 14 days. Second offenses will result in permbans. I don't care if it's the same day, or even the same thread - two spams and you're gone.

* ANY attempt at scamming will result in the thread being deleted and the user permbanned. As much as we want an example made of them, I would rather not have anyone reading this and falling for this crap. Yes, I'd also like to believe that the readers here aren't that stupid, but I'd rather not take the chance...

* Flames and insults that do noting to contribute to the thread will result in the post being edited and labelled as such and treated like spamming. I really don't give a damn WHAT your "Rank" is. To me, it's a meaningless title. Vets and other mods should know better.

* "tl;dr" is the same as spam and you will get nailed for it. If you didn't read it or don't have any interest in the topic, don't post. Simple!

* Promoting your website without the approval of mods (which means that the mod will have to throw in his comment in there) will be treated as scamming and the user permbanned. I no longer care if it's a Runescape fansite. If it's not approved, you're gone. You want approval? PM a mod.

* If you even try to advertise your website/fansite/helpsite without a Mod's approval, it WILL be modified and the user permbanned, regardless of user's intent. You want to help? Throw in your copy of the guide. If you find that you're pumping out a lot of helpful guides, ask a Moderator permission for you to put a weblink on a thread - if your guides are good, chances are that you'll get that authorization you'll need!

* Common knowledge guides, such as "Chop trees to raise woodcutting level!" suck and will be locked and left to rot with no chance of a bump. C'mon, make an effort, people!

* This is a Hints and Tips forum, not a Cheats and Hacks forums. This is so probably due to the fact that there are no cheats and hacks for Runescape. Requests for such will be counted as spam and advertising or even hinting that you have them on these forums will be counted as scamming and will be dealth with as such. This includes, but is not limited to, Autoers, Item Duplicators, Stat Editors, and Bots.

Also, if anyone in this forum has been banned for any reason, I know that many moderators here do not reply to PMs about this sort of thing, but I am open to both questions about why you were banned and Ban Appeals. If I wasn't the one who banned you, I'll give you the reason that they entered. Note that many times moderators don't put a reason. But if you were banned do NOT post a thread in another forum about it. PMs or we won't even look at your appeal.
