C'mon, it's freakin' Java - it's not really a language that would usually handle this kind of thing. If it were something powerful like C++ or something like that, I'd call for some better graphics, SFX, and animations, but, no, it's Java.

So, for a Java game, it's exceptional and it's surprising to see something as cheesey as RSC turn into something like what it is now, even if it did take a while.

I just tested it on a geforce2 which can render openGL scenes that look 10 times better at 15-30 FPS in 1024 res. Runescape HD runs at 3-5 FPS in 800x600. Hardware acceleration my ass. The only thing that's exceptional is the idiotic stubbornness of the developers. What the hell is Java good for? Cross platform? There are much better ways to achieve that.
