thoughts on summoning? Can't Post

Now that everyone has had awhile to try out this new skill, what do you think? I don't really have an opinion cause I'm only lvl 4 (just did the quest).

Since no one seems to care about my thread enough to post, I'll just answer my own question. (I've looked into a little more now) Summoning is complete Bull[Expletive Deleted]! (whew, glad I got that off my chest) Anyway, like I was saying. I believe Summoning is just a futile attempt by Jagex to make us forgot about these ridiculous updates they've come out with recently. Sure it's a great idea, but obviously not very well thought out. It raises your combat lvl even though its virtually no help at all in a real combat situation. The time and money it takes to level are comparable to construction and farming, with half the benefits. Jagex released a statement trying to persuade angry players that the skill was beneficial if used right. Yeah right! Their main argument is that your summoned "friend" will increase the drop time of valuable item thus increasing one's money. The only problem with this is that they do not factor in the time a player waste: getting charms, ingredients, making the pouches, or the inventory space taken up by the pouches and scrolls (that could be used to hold more items. i.e.- super sets and p pots, which would actually help someone kill a monster faster!) So there you go.

Any one who expected summoning to be great is a complete idiot. I mean, jagex's last good update was like what? Barrows three years ago?

I'd go with the Warrior's Guild.

Everything after pretty much sucked.

Re: [Nobody in particular] thoughts on summoning? [In reply to] Can't Post

[Dumping The Hate]A lot of people thought that Summoning would be a great PvP addition. Y'know, give them an edge on PK'ing, but when that went away, they thought it would be great for Bounty Hunter. However, since Summoning didn't work on BH, worked only in multi-combat areas, and wasn't as easy as people thought it was, people started throwing screaming fits and started to whine instead of try out what it actually had to offer.

What the hell did you expect, people? An overpowering skill? It's combat and skill assist geared toward PvE. Sorry that it's not as overpowered as you wanted it to be. If you want overpowered and unbalanced, take your clan to BH and jump the one guy who thought it would be fun to try it like everybody else does.

Sheez... What's total bullsh*t is that people are actually grouping, PROTESTING the skill when they found out that it wasn't EXACTLY what they wanted. Too f*cking bad, people.

Ooh! ooh! I know, if you don't like it, people, do what you're threatening to do ingame and QUIT! Maybe Runescape will be a little more fun without it lagging due to mobs of retards protesting. Someone even made the threat to kill himself IRL. Hey, stupid... *Waves* Please do...

So do your part in making Runescape a better place and kill yourself IRL today! *Waves banner* [/Dumping The Hate]

As for my thoughts on Summoning, it can be helpful, depending on what you want to do and what creature you have. The only thing that annoys me are the puppies (50 minutes of "Yap! yap!"), but hey, they eventually grow up to dogs and I wonder if you can sell them for Blood runes like you can sell cats for Death runes...

Something to definitely ponder!

I have a solution.

Quit.
