Horde Vs. Alliance I have played Horde and Alliance equally and found the following: Servers that I've tried Kel'Thuzad (PvP Horde - Undead Mage [52], Orc Shaman [20], Undead Warlock [20]) Icecrown (PvE Alliance - Human Mage [22], Night Elf Hunter [22]) Runetotem (PvE Horde - Undead Rogue [10], Undead Mage [22]) Argent Dawn (RP Alliance - Gnome Warlock [22]) Stormscale (PvP Alliance - *Characters seemed to have been deleted. Awaiting word from Blizzard*) Perenolde (PvE Alliance - Night Elf Hunter [20]) Some Oceanic server I can't remember (RP Troll Hunter [5], RP Gnome Mage [15]) Team Players Instances Horde - I was always told to "Get your ass back and quit aggroing everyting" when I'm in an instance where everything's red. At least there's always a healer to rez my dead ass when I die for the thirtieth time. Of course, level 29 in Scarlet Monastary is kinda pushing it. Just a little. Alliance - I have never been expected to tank as a mage before and then ditched when dead. Of course, I never seen an instance group with FOUR PRIESTS, either. When you've died and get the "30 seconds to be booted" message, I think it's time to rethink teaming with Alliance. Easier to solo the instance... Outta Instances Horde - It's nice to know that there's groups that'll be with you for every quest in the zone. Problem is getting XP during them. Ah well, here's to grinding! Loot shares are quite fair, with the occasional Ninja (Seemingly both sides have 'em). At least they're fair with the loot most of the time... Alliance - Oh for the love of God, NEVER team with a team where you're the only one NOT in the same guild. Master Loot + Guild Members + One outsider = Outsider empty handed. In fact, never team up with anyone who thinks "Master Loot" is a good idea! I remember this one group I was with who had it to Group Loot (okay, no problem there), but when everybody started to roll "Need" on the items, well, that's odd... So I decided to play along with that game (Hell, there's something wrong when cloth wearers roll "Need" on mail items), I was booted out and advertised as a Ninja for doing the same damn thing... Screw these people. I'm going solo... Trustworthiness My Case - Enchanting Horde - I LOVE enchanting! Sure, it's a money sink (since I do guild members for FREE and provide mats), but making things glowy and shiny is kinda neat! Complete strangers are open about handing mats over so they can be enchanted. It's neat, really, how people can trust one another with mats that go for 40g - 500g... Anyway, make the trade, make the next trade, and *DING!* Instant glowy, Crusader weapon! *DING!* A cape that makes you more agile! *BONK!* Boots that make you run faster! Stuff like that. What's nice is that they leave you a tip, though I DO mention that it's FREE with mats. Ah well. LOVELY MONEY! Alliance - It's like trading in Runescape. Trying to get mats that they're providing is like pulling teeth, as they want COLLATERAL for their "Hard Earned" (Bought from the AH or taken from their guild) mats. What the hell? I mean, sure, there are some that'll trust me enough to hand 'em over, but there's too many that want this "Collateral" bullcrap. I dunno, maybe I should try more servers... Don't bother asking for enchantments while you're providing mats - they want it (and the item to be enchanted) BY MAIL! What's even worse is when you're providing the mats and doing the enchantments. I see the gold, hit the item with an enchant, and hit "Trade" and next thing I know, the money's gone from the table. Thanks, alot, asshole... Overall Maturity Horde - Yeah, we got a lot of immature players in the Horde, but at least they're open about it and take the pie in the face with a smile. God, I love Barrens Chat... We get name calling fests, "Yo Mama" jokes, and more flying around the place. It's like Spam Central, but there's no flaming that I've seen. I dunno, maybe I missed the flaming when running from the Outriders on Frostsabers in the Southern Barrens... Anyone can jump in and take the welcoming pie in the face, by the by... At least you can get more information in the capital cities... Alliance - Imagine Barrenc chat along with the Runescape marketing chatlines in World 1 and that's what you get in Capital cities. I know that there's a lot of people playing Alliance (even moreso thanks to the nude patch), but sheez, not THAT many so that you'll lose the messare you just typed to find the Stockades under "WTS", "WTB", "LFG", "Yo Mama", "FLAMES!", "Looking for naked <Insert pretty race> female to dance on Mailbox", and other crap mixed in with flames. I just go to the AH for what I want... What does Horde got in favor for them? * Excellent racial specials. * Coordination * Excellent RP (in the RP servers) * Generally friendly playing environment and learning curve What does Alliance got in favor for them? * A race that can stealth regardless of class * Numbers. I mean it... For every horde party of five you see, there's a raid group of 40 somewhere in the same zone. * Nude patch * Night elves dance sexy! Enough of my ranting, time for my selection! Horde forever, baby!
