Screw minimum and "recommended" Can't Post

I played WoW on my friends laptop, from level 1 to 10 on a human Priest and well, FYCK RS.

Give me a list of what I should get to make WoW run orgasmically awesome on a desktop. I plan on getting a new computer, but if my Dad can do a custom job cheaper I'll do that. I just need the full system specs I'd need.

Try the following

128MB vid card or 64MB DDR vid card
at least 512 MB DDR RAM
Get about 10GB of FREE drive space on a drive at 7200 RPM speed
Grab a trackball mouse. It works the best. Barring that, use a standard optical mouse.

To make your WoW experience more enjoyable, get the following addons from the following site:
http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/addons/

CT Mail Mod (Send mass mail to one person! Open all the mail at once!)
Igor's Mass Auction (Beats the hell out of one at a time)
Titan Panel (Lotsa useful things)

And much much more you can add as you get accustomed to the game

Hope that helps!

while on the track of addons...

Perl frames classic is very helpfull and replaces your character frame, targte frame, party frame and several other frames with more manuverable versions.

Bartender 3 is an addon that replaces your hotkey bar and alows you to use ALOT more bars and even fit them into smaller places.

Vbagnon is a bag addon that puts ALL your bags into One big, easier to use bag.

Gatherer a mod that tracks nodes for herbalism and mining, usefull for miners and herbalists. (duh)

KTM Threat meter becomes more usefull later in the game and tells you how high your threat is compared to the rest of the group. Highest threat gets the mace of death. ONLY syncs up with other people with a ktm threat meter

titan bar - a bar on the top and bottom of screen for easy organization and utility.

outfitter - Get naked instantly button, nuff said

there are alot more addons but i dont want to confuse you early in the game :P

I've paid all my bills and still got one check coming in this month, tommorow actually. I bought a cell phone so I'm down to $50, I'm hoping my check puts me enough for a computer (2 weeks of a check, hoping for 300.)

Minimum wage, working 30 hours a week. That's 380 without taxes here. I plan on -using- 300 towards a computer. The rest is being spent on...."supplies"

Save more money and get something that will last longer, or at least something that has something other than integrated video and sound.

I did some customizing here, I think this is worth it: http://www.pcsforeveryone.com/product_info.php?products_id=14209{3278}&customize=true&compsave=update

You could bump up the video card version by one for 6 bucks, and save around 20 by picking a cheaper case.

Re: [Jindrak] Screw minimum and "recommended" [In reply to] Can't Post

Shared Video memory is a big turnoff for me, as it's nothing more than your current RAM being used for video (Correct me if I'm wrong). Try getting a seperate video card - it's worth the extra bucks, trust me.

512 MB RAM is okay, but try getting 1GB - you'll be loving it later.

If you can, get a 2.5 - 3.0 Ghz processor. You won't have to worry about much on gaming unless you're going for the newer GAMES. In that case, go for the best you can find - the GAMES will need it and more.

That should be good for WoW. If you're going for the new PC GAMES, you'll need at least

2GB RAM
120 Vid RAM
A decent size hard drive with at least 7200 RPM speed
And probably *choke* Vista

It doesn't. It's just that all new GAMES being made as of now require the damn thing.

WoW works off of XP, though.

Christ, I'm greatly considering this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-X2-4200-Dual-Core-7600GS-512MB-Gaming-Computer_W0QQitemZ280131699840QQihZ018QQcategoryZ140076QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I know it's eBay, I know it's risky, but the guy has almost 2k positive feedback, some on the same computer there, I've seen like four total actual negative feedbacks on the thing. Plus "PayPal" protection if that means anything. Advice?

Well, I just got a Sony FZ, and it runs WoW great... There are two types of the FZ that the CompUSA has near my house... One with a Bluray and some amazing screenresolution that costs like $2,000 and one without bluray and without a GREAT screenresolution, but a mediocre one for about $1,400
