Game Cube "No disc error" message Can't Post

I have a platnium game cube that posts a error message on multiple discs. I'm guessing its the laser reader, but wanted to know if anyone else has some ideas. It will read only 3 of the 10 GAMES I have and all the GAMES are nintedo certified GAMES. so I'm scratching my head on this one..

Do you treat your disc well? Are there any scratches on them?

I wonder if anyone remembers me.....

Laser reader is probably dying/dirty.

Re: [-Pwnt-] Game Cube "No disc error" message [In reply to] Can't Post

I recently got a Platinum gamecube and while modding my first ever gamecube with a vipe i ran my tool across the laser wich ment it started giving me this error. i got a replacment laser from the same place i got my chip. and it did fix it, you could try the ps2 fix but gamecubes and Xboxs need speacial tools to open them, but on the gamecube you can see the laser without opening the casing.

Ofcourse you are now reading my sig

I also have one of those but mine is brand new. It reads everything EXCEPT the Action Replay...what the heck?

Moving the laser usually fixes every similar problem I have. But since some GAMES are working and some aren't, it's probably something else and I don't know what to tell you on that.

Re: [loner] Game Cube "No disc error" message [In reply to] Can't Post

Personally I think Nintendo purposely designed the newer gamecubes so that they can't read the Action Replay versions released before them. If this is the case I'm going to have to get an updated version of the Action Replay...

Just like SSBM is programmed slightly different in it's (3?) different versions, the Action Replay code readings may have been blocked to prevent cheating...lol, I only want it for "Press L to levitate" and crap like that Laugh

Start at the very bottom. Go about 1/16 of the way around. SEe if you disc works. Then do another 16th of the way up, and try your disc again. Keep going with this process until you have gone all the way around. You should have found a 'sweet-spot' where yur discs work the best. Set the laser there, and go crazy.

bye.

OK, this happened to me i got so mad... i KNow how to fix it..
Your not putting the CD in all the way. IT seems like it is, but before u put it in blow on the gamecube, and then push the CD in untill u hear a clickin sound. T hen it should work, if not i dont know what's rong w/ your game cube

U could get one of those cans of compressed air. Use it on the intakes and around the laser. I got it to work for a while.

Hello,
My only suggestion would be to put toothpaste on your game cd, and put it under warm/hot water and wait untill all the toothpaste is gone, and then dry your cd, and try it. Thats what i always do when i have a disc that has a problem, it always works for me.

Hope i helped,

Sincerely,
