Just Making Sure.... Can't Post
I am just making sure I am on the right track.
I have had my PS2 forever, so the warranty is gone.

Whenever I put my disc it, it will say 'Reading Disc' for a few seconds, then dissapear. You have to re-insert the disc multiple times before it will load, and this load take 1-2 minutes. I think that the laser is weakening, so I was wondering if I follow the DRE guide and re-adjust the laser, will that fix my problem until my laser totally craps out on me?

Repeat the guide again to verify that you correctly done it.

Alrighty, I fixed it. I realized that the data transfer ribbon connecting the 'reset' and 'eject' buttons to the rest of the console from it's little connector thing. Wasn't too hard to fix.

Now my playstation works a million times better than ever, thanks for that guide bit.

Lets have a high five for people using old PS2s. :) I got mine 2 weeks after they came out, still works like a charm. :)
