This has turned into such a nightmare for me. My playstation 2 started having problems where it wouldn't turn on from the on/off button. I opened it up and noticed that one of the cables was pinched. I tried a lot of things to get it working again, but it wouldn't, so I got on eBay and bought a replacement. It was a short, silver strip that connected to the on/off button. I hooked it up, all was looking well... but now it won't power on. At all.

Does anyone have any ideas? I didn't mess around inside the console very much, just enough to replace that one cable.

Did you make sure that the silver strip is connected to your PS2?

That little silver strip has a receptacle in a really awkward place, and you have to have it fully inserted for it to turn on. It shouldn't have mattered if it was pinched on not.

same happened to me, I recommend you just take it to a real shop and let them tell you if its completly screwed over or not. but sometime they lie so you gotta buy a new one there fags like that lol
