Limted or no connectivity.	Can't Post

I can't use my Linksys WRT54GS router any more.
I can go on the internet with the modem. I'm using Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet Lite.
If I try to connect the router to my PC, it makes up a Automatic Private address that's useless, I need a LAN address like 192.168.1.3
Could anyone please help me?

if you want a permanat IP like 192.168.1.3

open network connections right click your network connection and go to properties

select TCP IP and click on properties

then enter the current config

and click OK, you should be able to get on tinternets now

Ok so it happened after I upgraded my firmware.

Is any of the lights on your router blinking? Even though the internet lights are on in the back of your CPU next to the Network Connection port, your internet still may not function. You might need to reinstall the Ethernet driver for your internet. I got a new ISP and new router, and I got the EXACT same error. Come to find out it was because I needed the Ethernet driver for my internet. Even if you have it installed, you should reinstall it. If you see any blinking lights on your router, please post back and I will upload the driver file for the internet.

The router is working fine, the lights are stable, sometimes blinking.
I tried reseting it, but it didn't work.

you have 2 options, 1 is to setup a permanent IP, see my earlier post

or you will have to configure DHCP on your router, you can do that by accessing the Router's web based utility at http://192.168.1.1.
You will be prompted for a User Name and Password. By default there is no User Name and the Password is admin.
This will bring up the Setup page.
Click on the DHCP tab. This will bring up the DHCP section.
In the �DHCP Server� area, click on the Enable option and click on Apply.

Once you have completed these steps your DHCP should on your computer. (you will need to enable automatic IP under network connections)

Well none of those work since I can't get a LAN Ip address because Windows can't get the IP address from the router.
If I setup a permanent IP address, it won't work, I still can't access my routers configuration page.

I just called Linksys Technical support.
They told me to reset my router which I did, and it didn't work so they told me that my router was dead, what?
They gave me a case # and told me to do a RMA.
Right now I'll go try to find the receipt so I can go to Wal-Mart and exchange it rather than waiting for a week just to get my Linksys router.
