1. Set foreground and background colors to these values: #000000 #002C6E
2. Go to Filter > Render > Clouds
3. Go to Filter > Render > Gaussian Blur. Use below settings:
4. Duplicate the layer by pressing Ctrl+J
5. Now, you need Xenofex 2. If you haven't already gotten it, click here. Go to Filters > Xenofex 2 > Constellation. Use whatever settings you feel like. Go nuts.
6. Now, create a big blue circle in the top-left corner, and then randomly select over it, like so:
7. Select the paint bucket, and make the fill green. Click the paint bucket in one of the selected areas. It will ask you to Rasterize the layer, just press Okay. Now, to do a Gaussian Blur. Go to Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Set the Blur Radius to 2. It should look something like this. If it doesn't, turn up/down the blur as needed. It'll look like this, now:
9. Duplicate the planet by pressing Ctrl+J.
10. Go to Filters > Xenofex 2 > Little Fluffy Clouds. Use these settings:
11. Set the cloud planet's Opacity to 70%:
12. Select the other planet's layer. Click the little circled F at the bottom of the layers window. Click Outer Glow. Use these settings:
13. With the normal planet still selected, click the drop-down menu that says Normal. Change it to Screen.
Final Result
A realistic starry sky with a cartooney planet! Have fun!
