1. Make a new document 150x150 Make sure its set on RGB color and Transparent.
2. Now with your Ecliptic Maraquee tool make a circle
3. Now in an upward motion with your gradient tool set on Linear.


4.Now with the circle still selected, make a new layer and click Select/Modify/Contract contract it by 3 pixels
5. Again with your gradient tool make that same upward line with it on Linear
6. De-select that by hitting Ctrl + D
7. Now, right click on the top layer and click on Blending Options and use these settings

8. Now for the text, grab a pixel type font like visitor, that is what I will be using for this.
9. Add in your text and make sure that the font color is white
10. Next Right click on the text layer and hit blending options and use these settings

13. Next we are going to save it as a transparent gif, Click File/ Save for Web
14. On the right, make sure that "Transparency" is checked and then click save, Save it as whatever you want and your done!

You should probably get better at graphic designing, because this makes just a very simple avatar. But its an alright guide though.

Sticky is reserved for those things that teach you ALOT in one tutorial. Basically, this teaches very little in the scope of things.

Just a tip pkerman, make the area around the avatar transparent, it looks neater that way.
