I finally gave this graphic design thing a go... Can't Post
Well, I dug out an old copy of photoshop elements '02 (I don't feel like downloading the CS3 trial) and started playing around with the tools. Here is what I started with:




Here is what I ended up with:





I sorta like the result, of course not top notch, but that's what you get for just fooling around with various filters and stuff.

And then there was silence.

That actually looks pretty sweet. Especially for somebody who hasn't even looked at Photoshop in ages. Better yet, it's awesome for anybody. The only I don't like about it the text. Looks like you smudged crap on it. Other than that, I'd say you have yourself a genuine wallpaper, if it was big enough.

So very very close... And yet so very very far :P

Next time, extract his hair, since it's a nice vibrant contrasting colour, and paste in all over the place. Then jerk around with a whole bunch of filters and smudging.

On this one, The aura-ish thing is ok, but the colour brown is off. You would have been better off using red or something. The aura needs to be both in front and behind him so it gives the picture some depth. And unedited lens flares suck on all occasions.

Wait, you're saying I should sorta magle the hair all over the picture, but in a way that you don't see it's hair and it sorta blends in?
And how do you mean in front and behind him? I don't really see how I should do that...
Oh, and the lens flare was just a last-second thingy. I guess it sorta does look crappy.

I mean that the hair is a point of contrast, you can pick it out using the marquee tool and pull it though a whole bunch of filters.


I didn't finish it, and it's a really crappy rough Idea, but those red things are actually the hair after a few filters.

You have to extract your render. Use the marquee tool to pick out the main bit, the guitarist, and delete everything else. You can then position the other layers under or over the original one.

I like it, but the way that he is positioned behind the lights makes him look like he has knee pads on...
