I have to tell you a funny story... Can't Post
First off all let me tell you that I have the BEST Mother in law in the world. She is 85 and is getting in poor health. When she is over for supper she really tries to help but ends up getting in my way. Since she really wants to contribute I try to find her an onion to peel or something she can do at the table. I also had a pair of scissors that I just LOVED!!! They were those small scissors that fold up and look like a little pair of spectacles when they were folded. The part that you put your fingers through was really wide and easy to hold.
Now for my story...
Last week we had MIL over for supper. I had been crocheting earlier at the table and there laid my scissors. . I didn’t have anything to keep her busy and I saw her out of the corner of my eye starting to get up which meant she was heading to the stove. Once she gets up it's nearly impossible to get her to sit back down and let me cook all by myself. I hurried to the table and said to her. Look at my little scissors. I just love them. I preceded to show her how they would fold and said " see you fold them this way and that way and you can take them with you" and before I could finish the rest of the sentence with "wherever you want and won’t get stuck" …her eyes lit up like a little kid at Christmas and said "THANK YOU, I sure can use those." Well... her bright happy eyes were quite a contrast with my startled I can’t believe what just happened face. I didn’t know what to say but from some where the words You're Welcome came out of my mouth. What!!! I didn't just say that did I?
I thought... she’ll lay www.viccol.com them down and when I clean the table she will forget about them.
NO that didn’t happen. That poor feeble little old lady that moves at a turtles pace stuck those wonderful favorite scissors of mine in her shirt pocket so fast it was like a streak of lightning. I could have cried. Everything has gone through my mind?
The next time I’m there do I steal them and make her wonder if she may have lost them?
NO way... I couldn’t do that, I’m not a thief
Do I ask for them back?
NO way?the look on her face was priceless when she said Thank You
What to do…What to do
I’ll just go buy another pair…NOT
I have looked everywhere and cannot find a pair like those.
That is what I was looking for in the first place when we went to Hobby Lobby…I found Beads but no scissors like the ones I had.
I sure hope MIL loves those scissors as much as I did.
