Because it gives us all headaches when it decides to act differently on two different browsers, hence messing up the entire layout for one's website?

Yeah it makes me want to shoot myself sometimes Laugh

As long as you stick to standards and validate your code it should be fine. What's worse is different resolutions.

Yeah, resolutions seem to be the killer. I design for people with 1024x768 and then the people with 800x600 complain. I go back to a design that fits well with 800x600 and people with 1280x1024 complain that it is too small. Now I just design for 1024x768 and stick my ads on the right navigation. (people with smaller resolutions just cut off the edge)

Oh, one other thing. Form tags act differently in IE and FF. In IE they add a line break, but in FF they do not. (they make my tables go crazy)
