hey every1 im am pretty new to java and im creating an applet at the moment in swing, i need help though.

i would like to insert an image into a jPanel, but, i can not find the code to do it. this is the rouhly what it should be.

Have you tried using JLabel?

No, JLabel works for small images as well as text.
