You can make .exe, .dll, ActiveX applications, and many others.
To start you off with, make a Hello World application.

Make a .exe project, put a button on the form, double click the button.

Add this code to the button handler :

Code

MsgBox("Hello World!")

Press the run button at the top, and press the button, a messagebox should popup and say Hello World.

Most people in this forum probably do, as it's a FREE download. Many of us use VB6, though, so if you download programs/code samples from them there might be compatibility issues.

I use Enterprise Edition, although I have lot's of annoying Windows Errors with it, I stopped using Visual Basic 6 since it always gives me Windows Errors.

Why? The newer one is like, better.

And of course you can add sounds to programs.

i use vb 6.0 professional edition.

i like that one best.
