Can one have ONLY beliefs based on logical deductions? Can't Post

For one to think that all of their beliefs are based on logic and reason is for one to think that all of their beliefs can be logically deduced using verifiable empirical evidence and mathematics (as in the qualifications for a scientific law). For a true axiomatic inference, one must cover all bases and formulate their beliefs beginning at the fundamental premise and work their way to an explicit inference through various steps, most of which consisting of conditional statements and defining the conditions. Hence, for one to think that all of their beliefs are based on logic and reason is for one to think that their view is the only logically possible view that can be concluded. The view that one's subjective interpretation of an objective reality is the pennacle of objectivity epitomizes philosophical arrogance, not to mention it's loaded with pomp. Further, it parallels the religious folks that have a tendancy to believe that their views are objectively correct. Complete and utter self-righteousness.

Pretty much yeah. It's one thing to have an opinion, but you have to prove it too. It doesn't all have to be fact based, but the more fact you have the more believable your opinion is. Which is what we are trying to prove in the end if we are debating right?

How can you base your argument purely off opinino and expect people to believe you?

bye.

No.

Obviously, you don't know what logic and reason is. In fact, it would be against logic and reason to believe that there is no good reason to believe a great many things just because they can't be "empirically" and "mathematically" deduced. For example, these days it's possible to prove scientifically who your parents are. You are saying that a hundred years ago when this wasn't possible, anyone who believed that their parents had given birth to them had an illogical belief. That's absurd.

You seem to be a person who will ridicule everyone who has different beliefs than you just because your beliefs go along with a textbook with numbers in it. That's naive, and certainly "arrogance, not to mention it's loaded with pomp."

Logical reasoning and science are not necessarily equal. And any deduction, including what you would call "scientific" can have serious flaws.
