Actually I think that nukes and other WoMDs are a gift as well, a double edged sword.

They insure that countries don't go to war on a massive scale due to fear of Total Annhilation.

Nukes are an insurance, as long as religious fanatics and zealots don't get hold of them there's nothing to fear. And even if WWIII comes into reality it'll be fought with only conventional weapons. There's the possibility of it ending with Total Annhilation though...

Agreed. I always knew extreme technology is what would finish us. Whether we begin relying on technology to feed us, while we sit around computers and grow lazy and stupid. Then hackers destroying the system and killing us all. Or high-tech bombs making us feel safe, then we understand that's what's killing us.

Well, unlike the first world wars, we have so much power that the U.S, Japan, China, Russia, Britan, could blow up the world several times over, so hopefully people in the world will get some comment sense.

It's possible, but I doubt that it would happen in the next ten years or so. Mainly because even though there is all of this international conflict, I have doubts that a mass war will start. No one wants such as war, and I doubt there are ideas strong enough, like Hitler's Adryan race idea's to enforce such a country to actually do such a thing.

China isn't retarded though, they're not looking for a deathwish...

My guess is that WWIII will start when some religious fanatic or zealot gets hold of a WOMD(Nukes, Hydrogen bombs, Neutron Bombs... The works). Countries will start blaming eachother on who did it and who was responsible, eventually it'll escalate into a conventional war. Like I said before, nobody but fanatics and zealots are likely to use WOMDs.

Basically, based on what I believe I know, USA being involved with Iraq and other small countries has drawn attention from other countries who in turn have dipped their noses into our and Iraq's business. Thus, Iraq gets some sort of reinforcement from undisclosed countries. So now, we have all these different countries bombing each other and gaining allies to fight the rest of the world.
