Re: [-Pwnt-] Debate: World War III a Likely Possibility? [In reply to] Can't Post

that really depends...china's army is massive but not enough to take down america although they're better trained they dont have the technology americans have. also middle eastern countries might ally with china to take down america then china'll screw them over. Also in about 200 years North korean people will go extinct...if you dont believe me read the health reports of n.korea theyre staying the same height as they were 50 years ago and theyre populations decreasing not increasing. when north korean dies out china and south korea will fight for the land. america will help south korea so they can set up a base or so they can use it to push china back...it all depends on our leaders and when and how things happen

I think the world's way too fragile for a third world war.

Let's see... What do we, as in the world, have as a whole in the world?

Unstable economy
Spread too thin (If the activities in Afghanistan and the rest of the Mideast are any indication)
Resource management issues
Lots O' Nukes

I don't think anyone's really ready for a third world war...

Was anyone ready for a second world war? Or even a first?

Before WW2 all the majority of nations were in a huge depression. It was one of the mots fragile times, yet that war still managed.

You cant really rule out any possibilities. I could see it happening in the not so near future.

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Got a point there, but I'm talking now, though. Granted, the war got people outta the depression due to the creation of jobs making war materials. But now that everybody has jobs and there is no real depression...

...and I don't give a damn what people say - everybody still has nukes and I hate to see what happens when everybody fired 'em at once.

Another World War would be devastating but then I've got to thank god I live in Australia. Nobody cares about us, we have a population of under 25 million and have no real military power, we'll either be invaded or left alone.

That's the advantage of being Australian, we are lucky.

Anyway, it would have a big impact i'm sure, but hopefully it comes after my time, or not at all would be nice.

The downside is having no real historical significance on the global scale.

Re: [Pheylan] Debate: World War III a Likely Possibility? [In reply to] Can't Post

Yes, while Pheylan will be taught about in our kindegarten classrooms until the end of time.
I can see it now.
"Class, he was once the great knight known as Nova, obsessed with all things Ayumi along with some crappy Japanese cartoon, then he was corrupted by the plague that spread across our great world, call the FGFirus, also known as "Unwavering Stupid." Then the man-nigh-the legend, known as Pheylan rose from the ashes. He is a man seemingly without a conscience for whom the ends always justify the means, and it is he who suggests that their target should not be an enemy of the country, but rather the country itself. Three targets are chosen to maximize the effect of the attack: a school, a tube station, and a water treatment plant. Several hundred die within the first few weeks.
Fueled by the media, fear and panic spread quickly, fracturing and dividing the country until at last the true goal comes into view. Before the Saint Mary's crisis, no one would have predicted the results of the election that year, no one. And then not long after the election, lo and behold, a miracle! Some believed it was the work of God Himself, but it was a pharmaceutical company controlled by certain party members that made them all obscenely rich. A year later, several extremists are tried, found guilty and executed while a memorial is built to canonize their victims. But the end result, the true genius of the plan, was the fear. Fear became the ultimate tool of this government, and through it our politician was ultimately appointed to the newly created position of Moderator.
The rest, as they say, is history."

"Class,"

what

This introduction ruined everything that followed. A kindergarten classroom really isn't the appropriate atmosphere for the telling of an epic.

Instead, have an old man descending from a mountaintop, carrying manuscripts that tell the forgotten tale of his distant grandfather. He stands before the city gates and begins to read them aloud, his bellowing voice arousing the steadfast attention of each and every citizen. Including kindergarten students.

The old man will weave my tale beautifully, before leaving them with a prophecy. A prophecy of my return from the northern wastes.

"And in his wake shall flow a tide of blood, as all life ends."

Then I am become death, destroyer of worlds.

China is ready to drive the US fleet out of the west pacific when they finish their aircraft, because they build thousands of them, just the way the toys are produced. And then there're no room for the US aircrafts, which are more delicate and too costly to get a scratch with the chinese ones. Sly

Lol...Nug, you're pretty dumb. All I said was that it was a Call of Duty quote which meant that it was included in the [Expletive Deleted]ing game. I never mentioned that it wasn't einstein's quote, dip[Expletive Deleted].

I like what you said, that Australia wouldn't consist of World War III, at least I would hope not, to be quite honest, in today's society, I think that anything is possible.. and with all the terrorism acts that have been happenly over the past few years, I think that they are like mini wars that may one day eventuate to a bigger war aka world word III.. each to their own, of course though
