Good, evil, or a clean slate. Can't Post

Yes, another one my my school debates had made it's way over to this forum.

-

Are humans born good? evil, or with a clean slate?

Are they born with the intention to do good, or the will to do what ever they please no matter what. Or are they completely based off of the how they were raised and the environment they are in?

I like to think that humans are born good. Except for Damian Thorn of course.

Tabula Rasa. Your experiences shape you, but your are born completley neutral. Your 'indoctrination' for lack of a better words begins at birth, but for that moment you are completley neutral.

They are born with a clean slate, but with a tendency to follow their parent's patterns.

Define "Good" and "Evil" first.

Re: [coolgreencat] Good, evil, or a clean slate. [In reply to] Can't Post

Everybody's born with a clean slate. It's their actions, not their experiences, that make them good or evil.

Sure, you can blame it on your experiences, but really, if you know bad's bad, it's a very ery weak excuse. Ignorance isn't evil until you realize it's bad - then it's no longer ignorance, so you can't blame it on ignorance.

Saying that people are born evil or good is like saying people are born gay. In short, people aren't born evil or good, as I said before, it's your own actions and how you deal with the consequences that makes you good or evil.

So there...
