Well, I'm taking Cisco Networking next year and we will work with both programs. I really can't wait. Until then, I think I'll go with Mac Pro.

and upgrade mac just like a PC? like swap the graphics card for a better one and such?

If anything Macs are easier to upgrade and stuff.

And almost NO viruses.

That's because no one cares enough to make them.

If there were more mac users, there would be more mac viruses.

TACE...

If it weren't for the fact that some of my GAMES/applications are locked on to Windows XP, I might still be using Windows 2000, as with all of the security patches and updates, it's probably the most secure, stable version of Windows so far. I dont plan on upgrading to Vista for at least 2-3 years.

The only reason I've seen to upgrade is to play Halo 2, but I have an Xbox. So I couldn't care less.

I also heard that Vista isn't compatable with Windows XP documents like .doc's.

.doc is a Word document. Microsoft Office is Vista compatable, whoever / wherever you heard that from was wrong.

Macintosh is also used by the FBI. I'd bet some people would care enough.

You probably heard that wrong. It's more likely that it isn't compatible with ANYTHING BUT .docs. And that would not be a "bug" in their eyes. A "security feature" perhaps.

Re: [MM Mercer] Mac Pro V Windows Vista [In reply to] Can't Post

Well seeing that Microsoft owns almost half of Apple, could anyone see the possability for them to try and make us buy both??

On viruses, Mac's Virus bosting is complete rubish! Its right that noone makes virus for them , becaues noone hates them (Unlike microsoft)! They have very minimal Virus protection at all!(there is Anti-virus software for Mac's)

In the new Mac OS it has some build in software that is rather cool eg. the Time machine and spaces software!
I think that they are heading more i the personal use department and for enertainment (Music, Film, Photos).Microsoft does have that with Windows Media Center but the Whole Widgets, user friendly interfaces and software! They have upgrade thier hardware so large scientic and other organisations can use them for high quality viewing and playback. Some recording studios use G5's! But thier computers do badly(couldn't think of cool way to put it!) when they are used in buisness situations! (Thats what cheap PC's are for Smile) Mac's are alos compatable with some software called Virtual PC, used for running a windows enviroment (not sure what latest windows system it runs thought?).

So if you can deal with a bit of lag, you can have both on the same computer!

(Mac Gaming rules! I have 1st gen Imac G5 with 1gb Ram. woot)

Microsoft doesn't own almost half anymore. They own almost none now. They're competitors, yes, but business partners nonetheless.

I'm running around 20-30 fps on my 3d GAMES on mine, but thats because both of my fans are broken, and the computer auto shuts off after 20 minutes if the graphics all arent tuned to lol.

Those are funny. They're nothing but features that Unix systems have had for decades, with a truckload of eyecandy added.

The whole Widgets thing with OS X is basically SuperKaramba on crack. You can pay a hundred bucks and pray you have an awesome enough computer to run OS X, or you can get a Unix, run to KDE-look.org, and sit back and fap to the sheer beauty of your desktop.

All of those are FREE, except Mac.

If you want to get a Mac just for features like these, you might wanna rethink.

Konfabulator is for OS X too.

Or at least it was.
