I like Linux. It looks better. Is there more programs for Mac then Linux though?

Yeah. Lots of commercial apps work for OS X but very few do for Linux, mostly because all of the major Unix software is FREE and open source. It can be a pain to install these yourself, though. In fact when I started using Ubuntu that was my main concern - installing new applications. Fortunately there is a program for Ubuntu that makes this easier, and PC-BSD has a system similar to that of Windows as far as that goes. I'd definitely look at the latter if you really want to try a Unix-based OS, as it's faster to install than PCLOS (the distro I used to use) and has lower system requirements.

It's not bug issues or anything right now cause i know they get sorted eventually its the lack of good ideas the lack os usefull tools and the all this locking media down i baught my cd i should be able to listen to it on anything i want and do anything i want with it, Plus i play a game called Eve online were the videos section is huge and i should still be able to play Eve with bootcamp fraps at a decent speed and use this Ilife suite i've heard alot about for movie editing.

What? Eve Online and a CD, what do they have to do with anything? Does Vista have some gay protection software?

Vista will turn out halfway decent provided they have a way for the user to go around the so-called "Protection" crap that prevents most software from being installed on the computer.

Also, DirectX 10 being included hurts Vista due to the fact that it'll cause many DirectX GAMES before, oh... 2007, two months ago as DirectX is not backwards compatible and most GAMES that you enjoy on the PC was DirectX based. Oh, that includes the GAMES you bought a week ago.

Please don't believe the "Vista will never be harmed by viruii" crap. There's bugs being made just for Vista as we speak...

But wait a few months and see what happens - hopefully SOMETHING will!

You can't turn it off. It's not just a "feature", it's a business strategy.

Why do we care, again? Just like IE, Vista's crap can never be completely removed, and that will never change because they don't want it to. Just don't use Vista.

Half of the software doesn't work for vista, Win RAR and others.

Edit: On another note notice how in general you have a lot of threads and like 1,2 pages of posts?

Here you get about 3,4 each thread.

Hence the reason why I said "Provided they do so".

How do you know that? You'd be suprised what happens when enough people ditch a product for a similar reason...

But see, people won't ditch it. Because they didn't ditch Windows 98, they didn't ditch Word, they didn't ditch FrontPage, and they didn't ditch IE. People are stupid. Therefore, Microsoft wins.

Yeah, but with Windows 99, 2000, XP, and even that horrid ME, at least you were allowed to install what you wanted to (even if some of what people installed shafted their computer to the point of rebaseline). Vista kinda did away with user FREEdoms. I dunno about you, but I really don't think people would appreciate an O/S that tells their user "No", and "Go Screw" for long...
