New President? Can't Post

Who do you honestly think it'll be or should be? I think that Obama is a bad candidate, but that won't change the stupid public from choosing him. He can make a speech and nothing more. I am all for McCain, but he isn't that great. All in all, the next president won't be a good one, and could possibly be the worst.

Comments?

That's all a president needs to do nowadays.

In a country like America with a solid (laughs) system with a Senate, all a President really needs to do is unite people under one cause.

Obama scares me though. The way he talks and "inspires" people he could be the next Hitler if he ever wanted. I would bet big money that if he made an anti-Semitic speech he could easily start a second Holocaust. He doesn't seem crazy though.

The downside with being so popular is an event like the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Hopefully his advisors have learned from history though.

Anyway, I would prefer Obama over any of the three because Clinton is unrealistic and too focused on her career while McCain wouldn't be able to do much since the Democrats already own Congress.

If the Republicans still owned Congress, or if McCain were Democrat (he IS a Democrat in every way but name) I would vote for him.

Gore or Edwards.

But Gore's not running and Edwards is white and a man, so...

Obama or Clinton. ANY DEMOCRAT, JUST NO MORE FREAKING REPUBLICANS. Their policy on Universal Health Care sucks but it's the only thing inferior to McCain's policies. And God knows the U.S. will be forsaken to death if McCain wins. He's like, a SMARTER version of Bush, still including the redneck and idealistic beliefs. That's terror beyond anything else, guys.

McCain is also much more level-headed, not to mention downright "passionate" about human rights issues.

Even though he's a Republican I doubt anything bad could happen if he did become President. Especially with the Democrats owning Congress.

Isn't that a good thing? I'd rather take it safe, elect someone that can't really do anything, instead of putting OBAMA into power. Have you listened to his speeches? They make me want to barf. Most people are picking him because 'they want change'. Change isn't always good, check my XBC post to confirm.

It's people like you who keep us in the stone age though.

With time always comes change, ignoring it is the utmost example of stupidity. Especially with Globalization and the fucked up baby boomers entering retirement.

Change is always needed.

Look at the recession. Hell, even BUSH could probably have avoided some of it (his advisors would have told him that it would make him look good) if it weren't for the Democratic majority in Congress. He couldn't pass anything. Now look at how the economy had fucked itself.

Why would you vote for someone for the sole reason of racial change? I know PLENTY of people that do that. In my opinion, Obama isn't a good leader. It's not because of his race, but because he just doesn't have leadership qualities that I think will benefit us. He can make a speech, big deal. Can he run a country? I doubt it. And if you didn't know, Obama isn't a spick, he is a nigger. And if you haven't figured this out: I don't hate spicks that don't have spick qualities. If they live in the USA and abide by the rules, pay taxes, and respect the other citizens, I believe that we can coexist. If they don't, I have other beliefs. I don't care if Obama is living, I just don't think he is a good president. I don't think Al Gore would've been a good president either, and he isn't black/hispanic.

So really, I'm not against him because of his race, but because of who he is.

Or are you too stupid to understand that, and not want to believe anyone has a different opinion?

Re: [Lamprecht] New President? [In reply to] Can't Post

Other people have made my point clearer than needed. But you still haven't refuted my original rebuttal.

How can you say he's not a good leader when you just said he makes really good speeches?

Let me put it this way. Was Winston Churchill a bad leader? It would be hard to find anyone willing to say he was. However when you look at history he hasn't really had a sound sense of judgment. Arguably all that he had going for him was the ability to inspire people with great speeches.

Look at Kennedy. Was he a good leader? There isn't one American who would say no. Yet look at the Bay of Pigs.

Was Carter a good leader? Many people would say no, especially due to his mid-east fiasco. Yet his policies were arguably the most sound of all past presidents.

Basically, being a good leader means being able to make great speeches and keeping the people together. Nothing more. So you have no argument you biased piece of shit.

And I think Bush proved to us unquestionably that even a stupid person with no 'leadership qualities' period can run a country as long as he has advisors.

And don't even think about comparing Obama's intelligence with Bush's.

Oh, and by the way. While I'm at it, let me ask you what 'leadership qualities' McCain has that Obama lacks.

Re: [Invidious] New President? [In reply to] Can't Post

There is little basis for determining whether or not Obama would be a bad president. He has solid policies, a good sense of priority, and a charismatic flair that he expresses through his speeches. The experience argument is fallacious - he has about as much political experience as, oh, Abraham Lincoln did when he was elected president, and I highly doubt many people would call him a bad president.

It seems that at this point in the race, all Clinton is doing is hurting the Democratic party by not dropping the election and supporting the Democrats. I don't doubt that she would lose if superdelegates had to get involved.

The only huge problem with McCain is his Bush-like policies with the war.

McCain's policies about homeland security are really only there for flair because he belongs to the Republicans. I'm sure that if he were elected he wouldn't actually follow those preset Republican ideals.

The only reason I prefer Obama over McCain is because Obama has that ability to inspire crowds of people. That and the fact that the Democrats have Congress.

And yeah, Clinton's a real bitch. Imagine if the superdelegates decide to put Gore in the Oval Office instead to keep the party unified... Scary thought.

Gore wouldn't have made a bad president - even those that don't think so would generally agree that he'd have been better than Bush.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have based on his policies. He certainly has the experience and has enough public support.

But there would be a lot of dissent-everywhere-if he were to be elected today. But the debate is whether if risking a party split is worse or not.
