Gay people shouldn't marry each other. They should all marry women, but secretly have gay lovers, like all of the awesome people in history.

William Shakespeare...

Wait, no, no one ever knew if he was actually gay or not. Just theories of it.

Nothing in the Christian religion says that homosexuality is wrong - the only quote you'll find is rather vague anyway, but that quote isn't even in the new testament (widely accepted as the official 'bible')

Lies. Read 1 Corinthians (6:9-10) and Romans (1:26-28). Vague? I think not. It's just as plain as in Leviticus.

Speaketh ye of this?

The laws in the Old Testament were categorized in three groups though, and the law against homosexuality is among that which was reestablished in the New Testament, whereas all the crap about animal sacrifices and slavery was not.

Homosexuality is against Christian religion. It is considered an abuse of virtue. Marriage was set to re-populate the earth. It does also say that to be married before breaking thy virtue. Not really sure which verse but it's in there, it's in there.

Yeah, Athlon and duler are right. The Christian Bible is absolutely against same sex marriage, and that should be a fact of the argument... Not an argument I would use, but yeah.

im religious, and i agree with the bible thing, but that isnt really a good argument, look around at how many people dont follow the bible anyways. i think if people want to get married to the same sex let them, it dosent bother us if they are togethor they leave us alone if they arent then what are they doing to us?

Yep its blank

A lot of people don't realize this because they repeat arguments they get from sources other than reading the actual source. I once read an insanely long rant written by some idiot who thought he completely flattened the credibility of Christians, but his whole argument could be flattened with one sentence: "Read the New Testament, moron."

Well, you can't force vegetarianism on people who believe animals were put on Earth for humans, and vice versa.

How are gay people oppressed in the US?

They can vote, they can start petitions, they can have jobs and they get paid the same as everyone else, they can drive, they can hold public office. In fact they can do everything everyone else can do; the only difference is they have a different sexual choice. One should not be rewarded for choosing to be different.

Let the individual states decide what marriages they will recognize, as they are the ones that issue the Marriage License. Put it to a vote, just like every other amendment to a state is done. The problem arises that the gay activist realize they can never get enough people to accept their life style choice that they need judges to force their will on to their fellow Americans.

When gays are no longer able to vote, and participate in the law making process. Then and only then will I agree they are being oppressed. Unless you can provide evidence that gays are unable to vote, or start a petition to affect change in their own states?

Silly homophobes, intolerance is for rednecks.
Go.

Its not homophobic, its christian. Although I dont support the loss of rights when you cant get married, but I think in the bible it does say marriage is between a man and a woman...

So christian gays are screwed. Im not sure about other religions and marriages.

I understand that being gay is against the Christian religion (as it is against many other religions I imagine) but I think it's inapropriate to say gays can't marry because religion tells us not to. Love is love to me. It's like saying people can't wear pentragrams because it's against Christianity. So I think gay people should be able to marry eachother and have wonderful gay sex.

Correct, but not all hetrosexual marriages are love either, so we can't say that they aren't alowed to marry because some are not based on love.

Well I'm not gay, and I'm certain you're not either - so I can't tell you if they love eachother or not but I can tell you I would rather have them be happy than be sad because either decision affects me in no way.

Nope I couldn't because an addiction to an illegal drug is differen't than the love of the same sex. One destroys your life and the other your asshole =\

If it's not, then the "it" in that sentence doesn't refer to it.
