The LHC = end of the world? What are your thoughts?

OK so many of you may know of the experiment with the LHC (large Hadron Collider) to find out more about fusion technology, and to find higgs boson. If you dont, this is what the experiment is about in a nutshell: (My knowledge on this is limited). They will use a particle accelerator (the largest and most powerful) to accelerate two proton beams in opposite directions, they will collide at 99.9% the speed of light, and the collision will recreate the time just after The Big Bang, and evidently, create a microscopic black hole. There are two groups of scientists are debating what this microscopic black hole will do (These are based on pure theories). One group, that is against the idea, predicts that when the black hole is created, it will continue to expand as it sucks more things in, and by 50 months, it will be large enough to suck in the entire Earth, destroying everything. Coincidentally, 50 months from today is December 2012. The same date that they mayan calendar ends, and the same date that Nostradamus predicted the world would end. Heres a quote from Nostradamus: "All should leave Geneva, Saturn turns from gold to iron, the contrary positive ray will exterminate everything, there will be signs in the sky before this". Yes, the LHC is located on the France/Switzerland border, near geneva. Saturn turning from gold to iron may be talking about fusing two elements to create a different one, and the positive ray is obviously the proton beams. Anyway I wont get into prophecies and oracles now. The other group of scientists, that are supporting the idea, are predicting that based on Stephen Hawking's theory that black holes are continually deteriorating, that a microscopic black hole will have no effect and will evaporate immediately after being created. The experiment will still go forth, this experiment will either the eventual destruction of the Earth, or a breakthrough in fusion technology, which could make cold fusion possible. This means no more petrol/electricity/power generators, energy will be renewable and virtually unlimited (fusion energy is the same source of energy that the sun uses) My opinion: The black hole will do nothing and there will probably be a scientific breakthrough. If you think some of the above facts are wrong, feel FREE to correct me. Discuss.
