who the hell would make an acid bath a public execution? That would be too risky to the onlookers and executioners (Acid needs to be placed in glass, and tossing a thrashing convict in a glass tub may break it, sending acid everywhere in a nice little mini-wave), and the damage of the room would be intense.

Not if you use a 2 inch thick glass tube. I was thinking along the line of the convict being dropped into a huge tube filled with a corrosive liquid. Onlookers would watch the convict thrash around for a few seconds while the liquid would froth and turn muddy. Also, who says we have to use acid? Why not just use an extremely strong base/alkaline substance? Also, depending on the type of acid, glass isn't the only compound that can resist corrosion...
Lovely, Ivory soap on crack...

Another cruel and inhumane execution method would be to fry the convict in a huge vat of oil... I had a dream like that once... I was dropped(or tripped I can't remember) into this huge vat of hot oil. The second I touched the liquid I screamed in agony. As I opened my mouth the hot oil found its way down my throat and into my lungs and stomach. Soon my eyes were burned out and my insides were being cooked. That's when I woke up of course...
Thermal shock should kill you before you suffer for too long. However, you can have some good old KFC afterwards - Kentucky Fried Convicts!

In all honesty, when it comes to the death penalty, I don't think humanity should be a factor - you killed someone in cold blood (Since most of the death cases are murders) relinquishing your own humanity, why should we show you any scrap of what you've thrown away?

FINE THEN.

How about euthanasia? A nice pain FREE lethal injection or a very painful acid bath?

How about I quote the best of both words from King Zepplin?

Quote
Decapitation = most human TBQH

It's quick, painless, and doesn't have to take away from the needy. It gets the job done and we can have horror music played in the background for the suspense effect.

But back to the original arguement - killing's not humane...

And even then, some people are considered more Humane then others.

Humanism is a main factor in the problems of today's society.

Humanism? Hell, it's ethics in itself that we need to get rid of.

Why don't we just revert back to the animals we are?

I mean, then we won't have to worry about Good and Evil, as it would no longer exist anymore...

But you see, that would be counter-productive...

What's so counter-productive about it? You can be yourself without having to worry about whether someone else thinks what you're doing is ethical or unethical.

... *Reads back* ...

Er, counter-productive to what?

Counter-productive in a objective sense in terms of scientific and economic progress.

If we went back to being primitive that would be the very definition of being counter-productive towards that goal.

I'm implying morally. Becoming primal doesn't mean we have to go back to the stone age...

I thought you were implying anarchy...

*gets confused*

Here's what I'm saying: If we're going to debate over the problems "humanism" and that it's just a bunch of bullcrap I'm saying that we should get rid of ethics altogether. I'm saying that without any ethics we could build a completely totalitarian government that would progress greatly in terms of science and technology. To hell with "human rights".

What I think you're saying(correct me): If we're going to get rid of ethics and morals we should just go back to being animals, as those things are really the only things setting us apart from wild animals. We should just let government collapse and let anarchy rule.
