Why do people hesitate when they are about to commit a crime? Most people hesitate because they know its wrong and their religion condemns it. If people didn't believe in a hell, then they wont be afraid of the conseqeunces when they die. 1. they hesitate, because it is aginst the law. And they dont want to get caught-they fear worldy punishment. God told people that Jesus died for our sins-he took all the sins past and future, and took them upon himself- and went to hell, for (however many) days, then was reincarnated in a perfect form. Thus, there is no need to fear a hell, because we have all been absolved of our sins. More people would die without religion. But what about recruiting posters and things during wars. with statments such as 'We'll win because god is on our side" Also, without religion, the 9/11 attacks would probally never have happend, Osama hates the US primarily because of their 'infidel' (non Muslim) trrops that are stationed in Saudi Arabai, site of the two holiest sights in islam-Mecca and Medina. There. Modern day religion causing deaths. Without religion, more than 200 000 people would still be alive. (thats icluding the 150 000+ Iraqi civilinas who have been killed so far, and all the civilians who have been killed in afghinistan) More religious conflicts- North/South Ireland. God knows (lol) how many people have been killed in that) A little thing called the CRUSADES. (200+ years of constant violence in the middle east)(kinda like now, only longer) the Thirty Years war Spanish Armada, (b/c england left the roman catholic curch) The many Jihad's that have been issued throught history. There are several mentioned in the Bible, ironically. I'm not gonna crack open a bible right now though.
