I'm talking about America enslaving African Americans. Not ancient slavery, or slavery in other country's.

The holocaust, because even though slavery lasted longer most of the slaves were born into slavery, and dident know anything better. The Jewish on the other hand lived mostley normal lives, some even living quite luxurios lives so the change must have been horrible for them. Some slaves even had it better than the "Poor" people of the time (I admit it was very few). The Jewish were tortured non stop almost constantly, as oppossed to the slaves who had to be in top shape to work the fields... Even the slaves that were from Africa had it better over here in some ways (escaping constant war, and most slave's were traded by other africans because they were prisoners of war).

Anyway, I say the Holocaust because all dem niggers dat wer slaved an st00f were wimps.

But really? I would say because of the intent behind the act.

Slavery wasn't really considered morally wrong by the people doing it at the time slavery first started in America. Infact I even remember reading on how the cruelness of slavery began after the Americans got involved in the trade.
The Holocaust on the other hand was simply horrific. The people that planned it and carried it out completely understood how cruel and wrong they were yet they did it. Personally I don't think the Holocaust compares with anything done in history at all.

If you don't agree then you people should definitely visit one of the old concentration camps. Originally I planned to visit 3, however after the first one I decided against continuing.
One of the most gruesome things that got to me was when the tour was walking through the ovens. I brushed up against a wall and got some soot on me when a guy in our tour group jokingly said that the soot was probably the remains of Jews. That actually freaked me out a bit.
Another thing was this HUGE pile of hair. Apparently the Germans used the hair of the Jews to stuff pillows.
But the grande finale was this picture wall. On it was this picture of a guy using a bulldozer to push hundreds of dead bodies into a pit. What got to me was his facial expression: He had a cigar loosely hanging out of the side of his mouth and a very bored expression on his face. It horrified me to think how bad the conditions were when you could push hundreds of dead bodies into a pit with such a non-nonchalant expression on your face...

Holocaust was a systematic way of killing an entire people.

Slavery was forcing work out of people with horrible conditions, sometimes death, and beatings.

The Jews were also forced to work during the Holocaust, but under conditions even worse. The Germans didn't exactly -care- about if their workers lived or died, whereas during slavery, the owners had to take basic care of their slaves, dead workers don't make profits.

My grandmother was held in a camp in Russia (Spelling?) Anyways, I think slavery was much worse conditions because you had to work till you drop. They just made my Grand Mother do some little things that a German Soilder would want.......Like Metal work for weapons and stuff like that. Want the whole story? Talk to the grandmother then.

Oh.

So I guess torturing and exterminating a group of people in a shorter time frame makes it less of a crime?

Personally I think it makes it even more horrific.

Put it this way: Would you rather be locked up, starved slowly while being beaten living through constant horror at the fact that you're going to die very soon or would you rather live a more-or-less full life?(Much of the horrifying stories are isolated incidents, if you read up on FREEd slave literature at the time you would know that slaves basically lived the same lives as the really poor people in debt today)

Slavery = Slavery

Holocaust = Slavery + A whole lot of other bad stuff.

Holocaust > Slavery

Stalingrad was a battle zone. There were no concentration camps there. She might have been taken prisoner by the russians..
