That is true that you have to fight. I agree with fighting but I don't agree with the bombing. I'm guessing you haven't been there while this war has been happening. I haven't but my cousin is. He watches many, many civilians dying because of bombs or being shot. They see us as terrorists as well. We are doing the same thing they did to us. Waaaaaait... run that by me again? We're using carbombs and suicide bombers to kill them? I suppose I missed the part last week where we hijacked one of their airliners and drove it into a mosque. Ah, but I must have also missed the part where we beheaded a few people. Still, I DID catch the bit about our forces using 'cruel and unusual punishment'. Oh god, they forced a couple people to sit in 'uncomfortable positions' and wear women's undergarments. My heart weeps for those poor Iraqi prisoners. Not. The US isn't in this to take out Iraqi civilians. If we really wanted to blow the living crap out of Iraq, well... it would be a parking lot by now. The USAF has some pretty nice gear, my favorite being the MOAB. Also, if we wanted to take out Iraqi civilians then we probably wouldn't be employing infantry. Helicopter raids coupled with armored striking columns, as well as efficient use of air strikes to knock out hardened buildings would be the order of business. As I commented earlier, I don't believe that the US had much reason to go into Iraq, but we're in there now, we've committed, and we seem to be doing at least SOME good. To touch on revenge - I believe that Afghanistan was as close as you can come to 'revenge'. Iraq is... more complicated. I don't know enough about the President's decision-making process before the invasion of Iraq to form a proper judgement, but to accuse him of being an 'insane president who does not care about anti-terrorism' is rather inaccurate. For myself, I am strongly in favor of installing the new Iraqi government, shaking hands, wishing them good luck, and then bugging out. It's not that I feel the US is failing in Iraq - quite the contrary. I don't see anything that lends itself to our national interest in that country. We kicked out Saddam - yay. Now it's time to leave, gracefully or not, before we're no longer wanted.
