Hmm, well there are quite a few - but there are still plenty of Enthusiasts who are still out there and plenty more will come.

I think that he is offhandedly referring to me and other useless vets, but anyhow, there are a lot of inactive vets. Inactive, meaning that they don't post. But you never know, they might still be lurking around in the shadows, watching out every move like hawks.

*wipes forehead*

Anyhow, that's true, but they aren't becoming vet for no reason. The best of the best make it here, and that's how it will be. As the forums flourish, more people will come, more people will apply for vet. It's just how it will be.

Maybe we should do this:

Only allow so many veterans (say 30 as an example). Once it hits 30, we don't allow any more Veterans untill some leave, when they leave for say a month, they are devetted, and someone else takes their place. They of course must take the trial.

Well eventually there is going to be more and more vets, thats like the only problem with these, is that eventually it will overload and we will have as many, if not more vets than enths. I do think we should have a clearing out of the Vets who no longer go here though...

Hmm, a cap on the amount of Veterans wouldn't be such a good idea, it would prevent some people who really do deserve it to run for Veteran untill the a Veteran leaves, which may take quite some time.

True but thats really the only solution. Theres not much that we can do. That or go overload on veterans.

I don't really see how you can have to much of good, maybe just raise the expectations?

Raise the amount of posts that Enthusiasts need to get. Or make a new rank that can apply for veteran, instead of the enthusiasts. Like this:

0-50 posts = New User

50-500 posts = User

500-800 posts = Enthusiast

800+ posts = can apply for vetship

No, that doesn't really help decide if the person is good or not, just delays their time untill they can run.

Don't the Vet Polls decide if the person is good enough? If we don't want vets we can always vote no...

Re: [Jonathan11] is it possible to have too many vets?...oh and xbot [In reply to] Can't Post

Okay, then why are we adding to the post count if that doesn't help decide if they are good?

Precisely what you stated, it's the Veteran Polls that decide. If you don't want them as Veteran then don't vote for them, don't feel obligated to vote "Yes" if you don't want them as Veteran. If they don't deserve Veteran, they won't get it; if they do deserve it, they will receive it.

From Zenaku (He wanted his opinion voiced):
'I am here to speak to all the veterans that are arguing about too many veterans.Obtaining veteranship for ents was never fair, first you could apply for veteranship at anytime, but then they changed it to only ents could apply. And now you want to change it again? Its always us ents that suffer due to some elitists.A veteran is someone who is a dedicated person to the forum and cares about.A veteran is someone that can be trusted.I think that if there are many veteran that means more thaat there more people that now care for this forum and are trustworthy. You shouldn't try to argue about , you should be happy about it'

thanks for the last oen, here is another and this is for jonathon11

Veteran Polls aren't about whether the current veterans want more veterans or not, its supposed to be about whether the person running for veteranship is worthy or not. It's the job of all those that vote to judge the person and not just vote no or yes cluelessly.t'

I don't think there should be a limit, but I do think we have veterans who don't deserve to be veterans.

Yes, but the VCC turned into an ass-kissing contest, becoming, if possible, worse than the previous vet polls. Raz and Java were inactive, largely, so if Jehu or somebody else *cough*points*cough* didn't like an applicant, he didn't have a prayer.

...This may come as a surprise to you, but Jehu hated the VCC.

I really don't think the VCC is of worth to anything but history books at this point. One of the more colossal wastes of time, anyways.
