Some ideas for the forum. Can't Post

I have some insights on how the implementation of Global Moderators / Co-Administrators should go about. I have thoughts for either one:

Co-Administrators: These could be very handy because they could help to complete tasks that Jammer doesn’t have time to do. This would definitely help to make FGF a more peaceful and stable community, because more ideas could be implemented easier, and IP banning a user from the entire Free Games Forum site could help to eradicate spammers. Plus, they can do the same things a moderator can, so they’re instant global moderators.

Global Moderators: The ideals behind global moderators are great. All moderators should be global moderators, so that not only a few forums are stable, but also all of them are. This means that if a bunch of the moderators of one category leave, then all the other ones that are still around can pick up the pieces.

Who likes either of these ideas?

They could be implemented by:

First: Doing a vote and electing some people to test the job

Second: Have these people instated for a month, and see how it goes.

Third: Take a poll to see how well everything went, and how people liked everthing.

I like this idea a lot. Then when some mod logs on and see's something wrong in another forum they can do something about it rather then just pming a mod of that forum and just waiting for something to happen. Some people will say that if this happened it would take away from the moderation of a category, and thats true but it will increase the overall moderation of the forum. (If that made sence). And if there were lots of global moderators rather then just a few, the problem of each category losing something would be eliminated.

So in simple more mods in more categories = a cleaner better forum for everyone. So I really dont see anything bad about that.

Edit: I did think of another probem, the problem of moderator abuse. But this could be eliminated just based on how many moderators and veteras we have. Others would notice and the person could be removed.

And the fact that if a moderator left we would not have huge problems is just another plus for it. It would eliminate the possibility of having the forum turn out like it did a while back. As long as there are some active mods and a way for more mods to be added its good.

I said this before the catagory Moderators came out. Its a MUCH better idea to have global. Though - I doubt any changes will be made right after catagory Moderators JUST came out. We haven't even completed the system yet.

We need a co-admin for sure... Nothing else needs to be said.

I've been told by people that Jammer will never ever make global moderators again, but I personally am an advocate of the idea, and have said so several times. Be nice if we got a few.

Who would possibly get this roll?

No he didn't, but after I've checked the history of the Global mods, it seemed it was because they didn't get along, and wouldn't work together. We have more mature group of Moderators now that we have more of a selection to choose from.

Again - Like I have seen in FGF history, if you give people special powers, and not others, they rebel, and go against them. Equality is the way to go, or it will never work.

And that was exactly my reasoning behind the current system.
  • FGF can't handle everyone having absolute power
  • FGF can't handle anyone having exclusive power
Therefore, category mods is the answer.

I agree with catagory mods now as well, there is no problem with them, they work fine, and people are happy with it, well I know I am.
